Ministry Opportunities
During the months of November through March, volunteers at the 16-bed shelter have the following opportunities:Working alongside a paid staff member, serving meals, overseeing guest laundry, and doing other tasks. These posts last either from 6 to 9 p.m. or from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m., seven days a week. Three individuals, including staff, are on duty at all times the shelter is open (evenings and overnight).
Providing meals to be brought to the shelter. Meals should serve at least 23. Click here for details.
Providing and serving breakfast at 7 a.m.on Sunday mornings, to bridge the time between shelter closing and the beginning of Sunday School at 9: 15 a.m. The shelter provides a host for breakfast teams of, ideally, 3-6 adults or mature teens.
Providing funds. The shelter relies on donations for its operating expenses, which include staff salaries, supplies, and two bus passes per day for each guest.
