Courtney was born in Tacoma, WA, met her husband, Charlie, at Covenant College on Lookout Mt., GA, and moved with him to St. Louis right after their wedding in the summer of 2006. Charlie attended Covenant Theological Seminary and Courtney earned her Master of Arts in music at Washington University. When Charlie decided to pursue hospital chaplaincy, landing first a residency and then a job they settled in St. Louis. They have four boys and live on 4 acres in north county. Courtney’s main job has been raising those four boys, but probably holds the record somewhere for the most random jobs held: assistant choir director and substitute teacher, mailroom clerk, lab assistant, professional cleaner, hospital patient sitter, route driver and now church janitor and kids ministry director.
