What should I expect?
Whether you're a skeptic or a long-time Christian, we know that visiting a church can be weird — here are answers to some "Frequently Asked Questions" to help:
-
We don't have a dress code, and our greeters aren't scary enough to enforce one anyway. Come as you are! You'll find some in jeans, flip flops, and a graphic T from the 80s, as well as some in more formal attire, and everything between.
-
Our eclectic music — a joyful mix of styles ranging from super ancient to super modern, classical to folk to gospel — reflects our cosmopolitan, multiracial environment.
-
Usually about an hour and 15 minutes to an hour and a half.
-
We value worship where the people in the pews don't just watch professionals "perform" worship but actually participate in the worship themselves, so there are some times in our service that we invite you to share prayers or praises or something else — feel free to do that, but if that freaks you out, don't worry about it.
In the bulletin you'll get when you walk in, there are some notes under each section of worship with ⚜️ fleur-de-lis ⚜️ (we're in St. Louis, it's kind of a thing) which explain the parts of worship and include any helpful hints to visitors.

Yes! During the worship service we offer a nursery for kids 6 months - 3 years old. During the sermon, we have classes for age 4 - elementary-aged kids. To help with the kids you have with you in service, we have Worship Bags available in the narthex that are packed with sermon-themed coloring pages and silent activities. We also have a cry room in the back of the sanctuary for antsy kids and/or nursing. However, we really are okay with crying babies and antsy kids in the sanctuary — God says he brings praise out of the mouths of babies, and we assume that this is what he is talking about.
